Angry Is my B18A1 really ruined??

I have a 1992 LS Integra. This is going to sound like a lie, but i was driving around town one night and i ran into a puddle. It wasn't a small puddle...probably came up to the bottom of my front bumper. Anyway, as soon as i hit the puddle the car shut off so i drifted to the side of the road and tried to start it again and again with no success. I tried jumping it and had no luck with that either. The next day, i put a new started in it and again, had no luck. I gave up trying and got it towed to a garage nearby. The called me the next day and told me that my engine had seized and that i needed a new one. I was in shock when they told me that and i can't believe that running into a puddle would do that to my car. I did have a cold air intake installed and it did not have a bypass valve in it because it didn't come with it initially and i didn't ever get around to buying one. After talking to many many people, nobody can figure out what happened to my car. That was six months ago and it is still sitting at the garage. I purchased a 1996 Blazer in September but i am still paying on my Integra and i love that car to death so i can't get rid of it. I have no idea how running into a puddle could have seized my engine. Please help!!

sounds me that you hydro-locked the engine , when you went into the water you sucked it up into the engine and most likely bent a rod or worse , did the shop pull the plugs and get all the water out then try to start it?

damn i believe it. that is why they specifically make bypass valves.. my cai goes right down to the bottom of my bumper. i don't hve a bypass valve so i have to watch puddles. if its more than a foot deep, i ain't goin. more than likely your going to need a new engine. or go to a junk yard. i found a 95 ls in a you pull it yard with a good engine for $300. im pullin it on saturday.

i also have an AEM on a 90-93, and no bypass valve...i havent driven into many deep puddles though.

you should do what they said, keep trying, but if no luck, find a new engine.

next time, if you're too cheap to get a bypass valve, seal off the areas under and around the fender liner to better prevent water splashing around down there.
