how do i get the old gas charge lifts off of the tailgate of a 1991 nissan pathfinder to replace them with new ones? thanks

support the tailgate with a stick and use a 12 mm open end wrench and loosen the nuts at both ends of the cylinders they screw in to the main shell of the door
