1996 starting problem, check engine, EGR

Our car has a problem where the check engine soon light is on at all times. In warmer weather, the car will have a very hard time starting sometimes. Once this happens, and it does finally start, it will idle rough for a minute until you get going, and then it's fine.

We had Autozone look at the check engine code, and it said it was getting bad EGR readings. I replaced the EGR valve itself, but the problem still occurs.

Does anyone know what this is?

check for vaccuum at your egr valve.
