Automatic Head Lights

Is there a possibility to disable the automatic head light feature on a 2001 Silverado ?

Re: Automatic Head Lights

Yeah you have to press the dome/overide button under the light switch fast about 3 times and you'll hear a "ding" and they'll shut off

Re: Automatic Head Lights

Yup, as BIGT said, if you fully press the dome overide button 4 times within 5 seconds, you'll hear that "ding" and they won't be on anymore. However, if you shut off the truck, they'll come back on at the next start up, so you'll have to disable it again.

Have a good one!!

Re: Automatic Head Lights

Do you know if it's possible to do with a 1999 silverado? I tried this before, and i'm not sure that i'm doing it right. do the headlights need to be on or off (originally)?

Thanks for the reply. I should have been more specific. Sorry.
What I meant was permanently and not every time you start the car.

Re: Automatic Head Lights

it shouldn't matter if the lights are on or not
as for permanently turning them off maybe theres a fuse or relay. but they maybe tied into another circuit. or call the dealer and they may can program to lights with a computer
