Rear suspension/hauling "Z71"
I noticed I have a lot a drop in the rear when hauling. I loaded two round bales of hay on my 16' utility trailer and am wondering if it's normal to have the back lower than the front. I'm use to a 3/4 ton and it didn't do this...I have a pic but don't know how to post it..What do you folks think...?

yeah,...I've been wanting to up the weight rating on the back of my Z. On my old truck I had progressive helper springs in the back that allowed me to pull a heavy freezer trailer. I'd like to put some of those Hellwig airbags in my truck, but the funds are lacking. I'm not sure how much either one ups your weight rating though. I have some buddies in Houston who specialize in trailers and hitches and the likes. In my opinion they're the best guys in the business in the Houston area. They can help you out with any questions you have. Go to www.masterhitch.com or give them a call, another plus is they'll cut you a deal on whatever you want.

Hey Jeb,
Do you remember what the helper springs cost you? Bouzer |

Re: Rear suspension/hauling "Z71"
I have Helpers on my 99 ext. cab 5.3 and I haul my quad in the back all the time, its a lil over 500lbs and my truck drops about 1"-1.5" my friend hauls his with a 03 ext. cab and it drops about 3" and looks terrible, I reccomend the helpers I cant remember the cost but they aren't too expensive, and will work if your hauling a reasonable load, hell of alot cheaper than airbags, although the airbag systems are better if your always doing Heavy duty towing.
