I own a 2001 Camry, the paint on the door handles of the driver's side are showing clear signs of oxidation. The handles on the passenger side only show minor indications and only in certain light. Because of this the dealer only wants to replace the driver's side. However when I was there a service rep told me they had three other calls that day about door handle oxidation. Anyone else experiencing or know anything about this problem? Thanks.

Re: 2001 Camry Door Handle Paint Oxidizing
If your door handles are color-matched to the rest of the car then let me ask: do you wax/polish the handles and they still oxidize? Or have you never waxed them?

Never waxed. Cloth carwashed only, no brushes. And it's only the handles, no other part of the car.

Door handles
You could try waxing your door handles with a good cleaner wax and see how/if they shine. Personally, I use Meguiar's cleaner wax on my 92 Camry which is white. I also polish the door handles on my 03 Camry which is also white and I use Super Glaze by the Wax Shop. It doesn't need any cleaner wax yet.
Maybe your Camry is still under warranty and the dealer will paint them for you. Stand tall, be tough and take no guff from those guys. You paid hard earned money for your car and they had better realize that. Best of luck.
