Angry 2000 2.4 grand am misfire

2000 grand am 2.4 58,000 miles automatic trans. giving a code of PO300 RANDOM CYLINDER MISFIRE DETECTED. the car will not go over 20 mph. engine will not rev over 2400 rpm. changed the temp sensor, changed fuel filter which was totally plugged, cleared the code , it came right back.

Re: 2000 2.4 grand am misfire

the engine runs smooth as glass till 2000-2400, then bogs like running out of fuel totally, if you floor it it will die,

Re: 2000 2.4 grand am misfire

checked the fuel pressure, it was right around 50 or 55 which i think is good, loosened the exhaust where the pipe meets the header, ran great, confirmed converter plugged, it has a 80,000 mile free replacement at the gm dealer which lets this car slide right in
