My MX-3 has a broken radiator overflow tank hose. The hose nipple broke off directly under the radiator cap. Do any of you know if there is a legitimate purpose for the overflow tank? If not, I'm thinking about plugging the hole under the radiator cap. If there is an important purpose to the overflow tank, then does anybody know if the entire radiator has to be replaced in order to repair the damage? I'd appreciate any input.

Re: Busted Overflow Tank Hose
well the overflow tank does serve a puprose, it gives the coolant a place to flow in the event that the cooling system has to much presure, or is overheating. I would not sugest you plug the hole, rather try to resecure the niple back on the the filler neck, or make a fitting that will work.
