87 Camery 2.0 No Spark
I have done a few checks on my car (I got it for free and don't want to stick a pile of money into it). The person I got it from said that one day it just wouldnt start any more so he gave it to me. I hooked the timing light up to it and cranked it over and there was no spark to any of the cylinders. So I replaced the coil on it still no spark I also checked all the fuses and relays and no problems with them. today I am going to the junk yard to buy another distributer for it and take out the igniter since the parts stores wanted to much money for it (Canadian Built car $159.00 and if built somewhere else $542.00 the parts guys didn't specify). But anyways that is where I am at I will write to let you know if this fixed the problem. If not I will wiat a few days to try to get some info back from you guys and if I get none then I wam going to scrap the car out.

Re: 87 Camery 2.0 No Spark
I first checked the Auto Parts stores and they priced between $169.00 to $500+. So I went to a junkyard, they sold me a whole distributor for $50 and it came with a new cap and plug wires. I can't complain! So I put the new coil I had into the Distributor I got for the junkyard (it was in better condition) and by god it STARTED and RAN!!! So it was the ignitor that was bad in my old distributor. And with 210,000 miles on it dosen't tick or anything and runs like a dream. So now I will sell it before it breaks on me.
