Missing Icons, Red X's, Broken GIFs

hi all
when ever im at a message board all i see are red-x in place of the smilies and the envolopes that tell if you read the thread or not, its really pissing me off b/c i cant rember what thead i seen already.. i tried to view af at school with theic pc but i still got the damm red x's, i was wondering if anyone else has this problem? and is there any way to fix it?
