compass/temp rearview mirro

I have located a rearview mirror from an Avalanche and want to install it in my '99 Silverado. It is the mirror with compass/temp display. What do I need to do? I was thinking the wiring was under the trim on all models. Is the sending unit for the temp already on my pickup and does it interface with the ECM at all?

I have a 1999 silverado that I put the comp/temp mirror in. Wiring plug is in the overhead it is 7 wire plug but only has three wires one is power, one is ground the third is to back up lites.you have to add two wires for temp sensor.the temp sensor does not go thru ecm.the compass is wired to mirror you will have to calib. for your area.
Good Luck
