1976 Ranger XLT Heater Blower

Hello,

I'm new here and I'm pretty sure that some of you may have come up against the old 'No Heater Blower' problem. I have a 1976 Ford Ranger XLT and the heater blower doesn't come on when I flip up the switch. I do hear an electrical 'click' when I slide the slider heat bar to the right but other than that - nothing.

The heater hose from the motor has been re-routed back to the motor so I guess it probably has a heater core problem. I think the A/C may be all right though. My problem here is trying to figure out what I have to do to remove the heater blower and also possibly change the heater core. I notice a huge black plastic container under the hood on the passenger side where the heater hoses and A/C stuff goes into. I had one friend tell me I may have to remove the motor to remove it. Is the heater blower in there? Is that a big job to remove it?

Any help would be appreciated...
