Question 2001 duratec plugs

Looking for some help. The plugs in my 2001 duratec are
AWSF 32F -I am the orginal owner and they have never been changed.
Went to Autozone they sold me AGSF32FM and they have about 3/8 of an inch more thread on them before the tappered seat. I checked the Motorcraft website and they list the AGSf32FM plugs as well.
Anyone out there have any experience with this - I am not crazy about installing this longer plug in my engine. Even if they don't hit the pistons they are sure to raise the compression ratio.

Question 2001 Duratec Plugs

Hey I'm interested in changing my own plugs on a 2001 Duratec but it looks like a lot of stuff has to be removed to get to the back three (1 2 3). Can you tell me what has to come off to get access to the back three plugs?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark R.

Check out this bit of info:

http://www.v8sho.com/SHO/SparkPlugChanges.htm

It does refer to the exact same plug and change as you described, however it seems this plug combination is also used on some V8's.

I would check manually by measuring depth of thread in the cylinder head and also if the full length of the plug is the same as it shows in the picture, thread the old one into the head snug and mark across it to check the amount of plug sticking out of the head. Try with the other one next and they should seat in the same.
