Exclamation i screwed up my car kicking the sh*t out of a grand prix

i have an 87 mr2 and i was racing it the other day when all of a sudden the temp gauge went very high my car overheated, and the battery went dead. i looked in the engine compartment and the belt fell off. i got under the car to get the belt and i noticed that the pulley at the bottom off the engine (crank pulley i thin)was not right at all. i called every car parts store within 50 miles off my house and they all said it was a factory part so i called smart toyota and they said 275.78 just for this little pulley . thats almost HALF of what i paid for the car. now my question is does ANYONE know where i can get this part, like a junkyard. cuz i just droped my last bit of money into buying this car. any help would be greatfull. if anyone has an extra blown engine laying around i really need this part but i aint got that much to spend

Ok well it sounds like you have bent or borken the crank pulley. Very bad thing indeed. Not only may you have damaged the pulley but you may have damaged the crank as well. Lets hope not.

Y dont you call your locat wreckers and see if they have one around. They will most likley remove the pulley for you and im sure they wouldent charge 200+ for it.

And finaly, why are you beating on your car. I think maby you need to cool it for a bit. Get the car running perfect, inspect everything, replace wear things. Take time and make sure everything is not going to brake. Then go crazy with your car. If you got the car for under $1000 you should put something into it. You cant expect it to be perfect.

Re: i screwed up my car kicking the sh*t out of a grand prix

i wasnt beating on the car, in the little time i have had i replaced all the belts, changed the oil, the plugs, adjusted the throttle cable had the linkage adjusted, had a new exhaust put on it, hooked up the air intake, put new tires on it had all electrical stuff checked out by a mechanic and had the car completly checked by ANOTHER mechanic and they both said the car was in very good driving condition , except for the front passanger brake witch had a bad caliper. and the only reason i got the car for under 1000 was i helped the guy out ALOT before i asked about his car and he cut me a very good deal considering what he origannaly wanted for the car

wow i guess the mr2 randomly decided it hates you. Or then again it may resent having been raced against a Pontiac.
