Guys I need your HELP, severe problem or not?
today on my commute to work I noticed that as soon as i hit 60mph that my car starts to shake or more like vibrate? Its not that bad but IT is noticable....
the steering wheel also vibrates slightly due to this shaking? It seems to be coming from the rear? I got to work and checked it out and thru my visual inspection could find nothign amiss? on Sunday the front brake pads were replaced...but other then that nothing else has been done to it? it drove fine last night.....but then all of a sudden this morning...? any thoughts or input? what should i do? i'm in WI its pretty cold but only like 20f, tires have air....somebody sed soemthign bout balance the little weights? i'm pretty stumped hope you guys can give some help? peace one

Check the balance but also check and see if there is any snow on the inside of your rim, if for example you drove through a pile of snow at the end of your driveway or a snow drift or something and some snow got lodged on the inside of your rim...it can make your tire act like a washing machine with all of the clothes on one side during the spin cycle...it roll's eratically...thus the vibration...only other thing I might suggest is a bad ball joint or warped rotor...but it sounds like the snow thing to me...
Good luck, hope that helps...when you figure it out let us know what it was... Jason

I have the same problem, my car drives so bad over 60mph right now because of all the snow, i clean it out and before i get to the end of my street they are filled again.

Just a thought but your tires might be unevenly worn. Happened to me one time.

We see alot of snow packed rims and suspension parts that cause all kinds of pulling concerns at my dealership..... find a smooth, clean stretch of road and clean your wheels out then give it a shot....

One of your wheel weights probably came off. Just have them rebalanced. Unless you have all sticky weights on your rims, which don't usually come off since they are inside the rim and the centrifugal forces holds them on unlike the outer weights which pulls them off.

Re: Guys I need your HELP, severe problem or not?
vibrating happened to me. first try rebalancing the tires.. another thing to check is the rear bearings. once i replaced that, the ride was quieter and a lot less vibration. to check it, just jack the rear up and try to spin the tires. they need to spin freely and have no metal on metal noise on them

oh yeah. check for broken cv boots in the front. once i replaced them when they tore, the vibration also stopped.

Easiest check is find some smooth dry-ish road...and check and make sure that there is nothing in the wheel (snow)...if it still vibrates...
Then go have your balancing checked...if it still vibrates then you have eliminated the two obvious choices... Then you start looking at suspension and such... Wheel bearing's, tie rod ends, cv's, ball joint's, control arms...etc. It will come down to a process of elimination...if you still can't figure it out...take it to Honda and have them check it (usually free) and then you will know whether you can fix it yourself or if it is something a mechanic has to do...and you will know 'exactly' what you have to do. Just a few suggestions... Jason
