89 gt project for sale LOTS new and spare parts
The story behind this car goes as follows. I bought a running gt about a year ago and decided to try my hand at rebuilding an engine, in the time i was working on this my health took a turn for the worse and it has been put on hold several times since then. I have finally decided i don't want to spend the rest of my life working on a car and need to get something drivable so I am selling this for whatever i can get. I decided to start here before I go to the trouble of taking pics and selling on ebay.there are lots of extras and new parts. this would make an excellent investment for a skilled mechanic and i am sure it would be profitable to buy the whole package and sell the parts individually. Please don't ask for individual parts as i will not go to the trouble. I will take any offers here for 10 days, until the 25. Just leave a post with an offer. I will take whatever reasonable offer that has been made by that time. I need to get rid of this and i am not asking much. The car is located in Lima Ohio area code 45801. Anyone is welcome to come look at it. any questions can be email to [email protected] any ways heres the history----------
I purchased a remanufactured head, new camshaft, bearings, pulled/had inspected the lifter assemblys from an 80k gt w/a blown head gasket, had block tested/cleaned and bored out by a professional machine shop, installed oversize pistons(for the bore), new rings, had the crank inspected, new bearings, seals, oil pump, studs for oil pan, new belts, plugs, wires, cap, clutch, complete rebuild. Had the transmission which was not original to the car, though i don't know when it was replaced, taken apart and inspected by a shop, they said it looked great.Lubed everything up, dropped in and primed it, Fired it up and it has a steady knock consistent with rpms that is barely audible when it is left to idle but unnerving if you increase rpms. i thought maybe it was timing between the cam and crank but after adjusting that several times i don't beleive this is the case. I don't know if it is just a mechanical problem or related to electronic timing. It does start up but it dies in a few seconds previously it would idle before i began adjusting things to try to kill the knock (timing ect). I am in no condition to be working on a car right now and i need to purchase something i can drive so i am willing to take a huge loss on this. I do have receipts for all the work and parts that have been put into it. As for spare parts that go with the car there are many. I totally stripped the car the engine came from and sent it to the metal yard. I still have the title, dash vin plate, cut out metal vin stamped into the engine compartment and all body panels/ trim lights (exception of the hood) ect from this car, it was red. I have the entire wiring harness for this car, front to back with everything computers and all still hooked up to it, when i stripped the car i pulled it in one piece. Also included will be the trani w/80 k miles on it and a second new clutch to go w/it. I have the engine that came out of car with blown head gasket including all the accessories. I pulled the entire strut tower down on the front and the entire rear suspension, all the brakes calipers, the whole assemblys. I also have the doors completely intact and the power seat from the red car.Of course there is a spare turbo/ intercooler assembly too. One radiator is good and was repaired by a radiator shop. I don't have a title for the one the engine is inI had intended on using the title from the one i stripped as it was sold to a scrap yard completely stripped down to metal with all vin # cut out. it is grey with grey interior (was red but was painted) paint is not beautiful but its not rusting just weathered ,It has a few scratches and dings but is very solid and interior is flawless (seriously) It only had 80k miles on it when head gasket was blown. I bought it off a repair shop on ebay. There is a single crack running across windsheild and the glass on the passenger side below the hatch behind the pwr window is shattered out, The hatch on it is from the red car but i have the one from that car. One set of rims and tires come with it, they are the factory gt rims and the tires have a good amount of tread on them. Im sure i forgot some things. If anyone is interested just leave a post with an offer so people know where it stands.Any questions you can email me or i guess you can leave a post. I ve got over a grand in the engine alone and im willing to take a lot less than that for everything. |
