Struts question

Is there any way to tell for certain if the struts are bad? I see no leaking, but there is a rubbing sound coming from the front when I hit a bump. I bought this van used. I replaced the rear shocks right after I got it because the van was "bottoming out" . (one of the shocks would not uncompress once I got them off and compress them ) Now I wonder about the front struts and how to check them other then seeing a leak? Ideas?

Thanks,

greg

If your van bounces like crazy when you hit a bump, or bangs HARD over bumps, your struts are shot. Give a good downward push on your front bumper. If the van bounces up/down more than once, your struts are warn out. They are typcially good for around 100Kmi.
G/luck!
