New info from SCC about Stage 2 & 3
Quote:
NEW STAGES FOR THE SRT-4
At last years SEMA show, we saw Mopars plans for Stage 1 ,2, and 3 upgrades for the srt-4. We saw them again this year but thet're different. Stage 1 is unchanged, already for sale, and already on our project car. Simply a new ecu and four 10 percent bigger injectors (same size as 2004 injectors) It boosts power everywhere by about 15 hp and cost only 399.
Stage 2 is coming very soon, possibly by the time you read this. It will still use the stock turbo, but will take it to its absolute limit. The kit will use even bigger injectors ( 30 percent bigger than 03 stock and 20 percent bigger then 04 stock) and a 3 -bar MAP and TIP (throttle inlet pressure) sensors that allow the new ECU to push boost as high as 20 psi. Now here is the really cool parts, in increasing order of coolness: First is a boost dial, a five position dial that lets you run full boost all the time, different boost for different gears, or all the way down to 6 psi for low grip conditions. Next to that is the intercooler spray switch. The sprayer usues a high pressure pump (45 psi) and aquamist nozzles to spray a fine fog of cooling water over the intercooler. The sprayer can be controlled by the ECU based on speed , throttle position, ambient temperture, and intercooler temperture, and the spray pattern and spray schedule was actually perfected in the wind tunnel to get the most cooling from the least water. Coolest of all: a race gas switch! Push the button and the ecu switches to maps tuned for 100 octane unleaded. And if you're a sumbass and you run the 100 octane map on with street gas the knock sensor sees it and turns on a little red DUMBASS LIGHT, and switches back into the street map.
Then theres the big one: STAGE 3. Stage 3 exists and is running on cars, and we actually got to see and touch some stage 3 parts, so its not far off. The big, important part of stage 3, of course, is the turbo. Since the turbo, wastegate, exhaust manifold and downpipe are all on casting, stage 3 gets to upgrade all of them. The turbo itself is a mitsubishi 15g-k2, the same turbo that comes stock on the Lancer EVO VI, but without the evo's divided exhaust housing. The EVO VI , for the record, had a bigger turbo then and other stock EVO. The turbo still uses conventional sleeve bearings, but has an exotic, lightweight titanium aluminide turbine wheel for quicker spool up, The downpipe casting is much larger, and the area around the wastegate has been opened up for less disruptive merging of the two exhaust flows.
So, Still embarassed to be seem driving a neon?

So stage 2 will basically have a factory boost controler and a dual map ECU. IMO this is a world first for a production vehicle using only OEM parts.
and wind tunnel tested intercooler sprayer...shows attention to details
