blow up my tech

does anyone know if i put turbo on my 95 ex tech could it run succesfully without internal upgrades. iam planning on running 20psi? i want to know because i will have to be running it with no internals for a while. Should i wait till i get internals first to be safe?

I've heard of people running 10psi with stock internals, intercooler, bigger injectors, air fuel controller, and a lot of quality tuning. You should just save up more $ and go with internals or just do a B-series swap. With the D16 you've got now; with a good turbo kit and motor work will do a lot more hp with a turbo running 20psi of boost than just a N/A B16a or GS-R... but it takes a lot of time and $ to do it and do it right and not have the motor blow with a turbo running that much boost. Not to mention running more than 14psi (i believe) your ecu will need it's fuel map upgraded.

hey, I think I might be able to help you here. Im currently running a turbonetics T3/T4 hybrid turbo on a d16z6 in a 95 honda civic. I am running 5 psi and it makes an enourmous difference in the power of the engine. If you go turbo you can expect to run close to 8 psi on a daily driver with out needing to modify the internals. I tried running 10 psi one time just to see what it would do and on the street there isnt enough traction to make the power useful, so it isnt really worth it.
