I have a 89 cavalier 2.8 + it has no belt tensioner I was wondering how you remove the belt. Is there an adjustment on the ac comp or p/s pump maybe?
Thanks' John |

Re: 89 cavalier 2.8 how to adjust drive belt
Nope. There is a spring adjuster on there. It looks like a small pully attached to an arm. It has a hole in it that a ratchet will go it to move it. With a ratchet in it, release the tension and remove the belt. After you remove the belt you can let go till your ready to put the new one on. Get the new one ready, around all pulleys but one before you work the tensioner. Its a little tricky, but not hard.
