Angry Grand AM 1999 3.4 V6-----Depressurized Cooling?

Out of the blue, I decided that it was time to change the coolant surge radiator cap. Got the OE parts (15psi-Slant make). And everything started to go chaos. What happen?

After driving for a while, when I switched off the engine, the coolant started leaking out of the surge tank...lots of it. When I start the car again, the low coolant level indicator was on. My car started to get overheated and show no sign of dropping. But managed to get home but temp was like 250 degree....

So I waited for everything to cool down and refill coolant (50/50 mix), hoping that will clear up the problem but it happen again when I drive it for a while and switched off the engine.....

Please help.........

the cooling system has an air pocket in it. fill the recovery tank with the mix of coolant install the cap run the engine until system is pressurized.turn engine off.open bleeder on thermostat hsg until a full stream of coolant comes out then close it.now open the bleeder on the coolant bypass pipe it's on the black metal pipe and the bleeder is on it.open that until a stream of coolant comes out. you might have to do this 2 or more times once all the air is out fill the system and put cap on.

the thermostat housing is on the engine where the upper radiator hose goes into the engine.the other bleeder is on the black pipe a 7mm screw open the hood it's on the left if you follow the pipe.
