na to tt
people have been telling me that it is hard for people to swap a vg30de to a vg30dett .... or that it is expensive
can some shed some light on this matter. i have a jdm 1996 vg30dett motor ... includes the transmission, ecu, wireingharness and rear assembly. i am buying a 1990 NA automatic and doing a complete engine swap with the other one to a standard .... can someone tell me wats the difference between the na and the tt ... i know that the tt comes with a clutch booster and a brake booster (or i think it does) and it also has hicas but on this one the hicas is electric giving the engine bay more room from what i know because the older models were hydralic. is there anything i need really to do this swap completly and fully. also the hicas bypass kit for the 90-93tt kit ... can that work on the 96? i have seen ones for the 90-96 but they are like twice as expensive but look the same ... thnx for the info |

if your really serious about doing it all yourself i would give the guys at Z1motorsports a call, they've done tones of these swaps and can tell you exactly whats involved, to get their number or email go to their webpage at www.Z1motorsports.com, it might be worth your while just to get them to do it, but i dont know your situation, but

Re: na to tt
Or you could buy a high millage TT and fix it for the same price or less.

oh and by the way the n/a's dont have a hicas system, so if you did the swap you wouldnt have to worry about buying a bypass

woe woe woe ... i am not slapping a turbo on a n/a car.
i am ripping out a 1990 N/A motor and the tranny and dropping in an imported 1996 TT motor and 5spd tranny ... not slapping a turbo on an n/a car. i pretty much read the pdfs at motorsport site ... just wondering but i have heard that the TTs break down a lot .... but most of them are the 90s ... i am getting a 96 japan motor ... so i guess i would expect better. anyways give me some insite on wat to expect with this car ... its my second car (im 18) |
