Car having trouble staying started
My 98 Cavalier will start and run fine most of the time but sometimes it will turnover and startup fine...then cut out 1 or 2 seconds after the engine engages. It is not a flutter and sputter then die, it is like the key is being turned off. I can try for as long as the battery will hold out to start it up but it will continue to die.
If I wait a good 30min or so and then try, it will start no problem. I am frustrated as this often leaves me wondering if I can trust my car or not to get me to work on time. Please help! |

Re: Car having trouble staying started
Does the security light flash or stay on when you can't get it started? You may want to try your spare key, if you still have one. The other option would be to wait until the security light goes out then you can crank it (usually 10 minutes).

Re: Car having trouble staying started
It is possible your starter was installed correctly. You can check the following URL to see how this is supposed to work.
