god..i fked up...
Ok so im burning tranny fluid cuz i drive her hard, decided i should change to synthetic. So i go to napa and ask the store cleark, i need to change my auto tranny fluid, what do i need besides an filter? She looks up her computer leaves..and comes back with a box. 9 quarts of tranny fluid and a filter. So im like.umm..ok (now iv never changed auto tranny fluid before..i didnt think it was any different from changing your motor oil.) So i get back..put my car on the lifts and drain the tranny fluid from the drain plug. Plug it up again. Then brought the car back down and put my new 8.75 quarts of oil....yeah....i said 8.75...im HELLLLLA dumb. Thing over flowed like you wouldnt believe i just drained 4 quarts already..and the dip stick still looks high.....arg....what a waste of money. Anyone know how much more i should drain? Im scared to push her, dont wana destroy anything.....but then again....it wouldnt be bad...then i can have an excuse to swap for a 5speed. Har har har

Did you check the manual/owner's handbook to see how much it should take?
Usually it will tell you the volumes somewhere in the book. |

nah..dont have the book handy..i should though. I should have put in atlest 3 quarts rather than 8.75..because Transmission fluid expands once its heated..so 3 quarts would have rounded about to where i need to be. When the engine is off, then Dip stick says normal. But the situation changes once the gears are in play. So i might need to drop another half a quart and i might be ok. If all else fails..oh well....5 speed here we come.
