I tried to move the steering wheel left and right by force and tried to turn the ignition key. Can't turn.

hi there - did you get any resolution to this problem? i had the same problem this morning (also very cold here). the steering wheel wasn't locked, it was in park, but the key just wouldn't turn. after trying for about 20 minutes, i got it to turn, and it ran normally, heated up and i drove it to the store. turned it off and 20 minutes later, the same problem again - the key wouldn't turn. when it finally did start, the engine sounded horrible, and none of the electric would go on - radio, roof computer, headlights, wipers, speedometer. it's currently at the shop and i'm awaiting a phone call to find out what the problem is...
