99 suburban 1500 brake lites

Oh, my, I hope I've found the right spot. I've been fooling around with cars all my life but the new ones stump me all the time..I have a burned out brake lite on the drivers side and I can not figure where or how to get at it. Anyone know the secret? dave. a. from gig harbor, wa. [email protected]

Dave: Look for two black plugs on the inside frame of the tailgate area. These plugs cover the screws or bolts that hold the tail light assy in place. Be carefull when removing the assy as the weather seal may hold it in place quite firmly. Good luck

thanks for the puick help..I found the screws and feel stupid. Unfortionately, the bulbs are good so it's probably the trailer quick splice I installed. I bought a heavy duty flasher but, wouldent you know, I can't find where it plugs in. Dave A

Dave: Don't feel stupid. The newer cars just make you look harder for what you need to get to. The new flasher probably won't help since your problem is on one side only. "bambislayer40" may have a clue to your problem if you can't fix it by going back and checking your quick splice trailer wiring........Steve

Also, make sure the bulbs are firmly seated in their sockets. If you have any doubts about a bulb, replace it!!
