1:43 BMW 2002 & 1600ti Alpina by Scala

These are resin models. Blue one is a street car version of a Group 2 racer. The orange/black one is Niki Lauda's 1600ti as raced at the Nurburgring in 1970 (still can't confirm if that was the 24-hr race or the 1000 km).
Bodies come pre-painted (pretty nice finish too). I used Testors enamel for all other parts that needed painting. Solvaset on the decals for the 1600. Neither of the kits came with side windows, so I had to cannibalize a clear plastic box I had lying around. Might pull them out later and use some proper sheeting instead.
You can find the link to higher-res pics beneath each picture.
EDIT: Looks like the higher-res pics aren't working. Here are the links to the albums:

Prepping interior before the door panels go in. Should have sanded/trimmed out that blob of paint around the fuel filler cap; it'll show up through the decal later.

Solvaset applied. Used too much, as the water spot around that huge drop couldn't be removed.

Sidepipe. The kit came with the exhaust tip, but no piping. So I had to make one from a tiny straw.

I love all of your BMW's. Great work. I love that blue paint job. Shines, and sparkles. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, guys. Think I'll stick to larger scales from now on. My eyes are buggered.

I'm most impressed with how well you've got these kits looking. I've only done one 1/43 scale lit like this (A MiniRacing Datsun 160J-SSS RAC Rally car) and found it pretty tough to do. It sits in my display case, still unfinished as I ruined one of the decals Maybe one day I pluck up the courage to have a go at rescuing it.

My kit didn't have all those lovely PE parts either... they must have been tricky to handle in such a small scale. Well done...excellent job on both of them

That's how a 1:43rd scale model is supposed to turn out.
