Can not remove key from ignition
Hello All,
I got Eighty eight LSS 1996. In cold weather I have to press very hard the shift stick button to be able to shift from "P". When I turn off the engine I can not rotate the key back to the "OFF" position and have to leave the key in the ignition. Searching the forum did not yield any results. Any ideas. Thanks |

Re: Can not remove key from ignition
You might want check out your lock cylinder or ignition switch as they may need replacing.

Thanks for the reply it gave me a hint. I used some WD40 around the shift stick button and around the stick. Also, from the little hole closer to the floor. And, around the key cylinder. I also used a hair dryer to heat up both in between the sprays. Now, both work just fine. I noticed that the key cyliner is a bit loose. So, once the cold wave is gone, I probably should replace the key cylinder before it quits for good.
Thanks, |
