They kinda scare me, mostly because of the "drive-by-wire". After reading numerous articles about how the car drives and engine specs; I'm a little disappointed that it didn't get better ratings. Of course, a lot of people didn't like the G20 either. The SCC coverage of engine output is what made it look bad to me; if I didn't know better I'd say that it was a Honduh engine with a little more toque. Nissan had to bring their hp claim down from 180 to 175 as their many prototypes couldn't exceed 140 something at the wheels. It is a lighter engine and does have the torque, but a ridiculously low redline, making high powered turbo set-ups approx. 2000 rpms worth of fun. That is if you can get a turbo set up to work with it's non-adjustable direct ignition and returnless fuel rail (they got the new Toyota Celica figured out) along with other choice things. I guess the only way to tell is to wait a couple years and see how it goes. I don't think it will ever be as popular as the SR20DE though.

I've had the opportunity to test drive a Spec V and they are quick. Very good handling for a stock car and it maintains a very nice, extrememly streetable ride, although I am used to a GC/AGX setup on my G As far as acceleration, don't let the low number fool you, they are quick! I'd guess a low 15/high 14 stock in the quarter. They are very very close to the same speed as my G20 is right now, but with a slightly different power band (more torque). I've raced one and it was really close. He got a good jump, but never pulled from me, and i wasn't able to pull him all the way in either. low 15's to high 14's stock. I'm jealous, and know what car i will be getting when i'm looking for a new car and a couple years.

I heard stories of Spec V's pulling away from modded GSR's. I've never driven though so I wouldn't know.
