Seeking Sponsorship (tax deductible)

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Randolph Ferguson. I am a 17 year old Encinitas, Ca. resident, attending La Costa Canyon H.S.
My e-mail to you is in regard to tax deductible sponsorship that I am seeking for my upcoming 2004 racing season. I am a factory supported Shifterkart racer from Encinitas, and I am seeking tax deductible sponsorship from some local businesses so that I may compete in the 2004 Snap-On Tools CART Stars of Tomorrow ( http://www.cartstars.com/ ), which is a nationally televised ladder series designed to help aspiring racers further their careers in professional motorsports. My goal is to raise $20,000. to compete in the 125 ICC Shifterkart class. These funds would be used to purchase entry fees, tires and spare parts, in addition to helping with travel expenses.

I have several sponsors, some of which have been with me for more than 6 years. Some of these sponsors have stepped up their support for this season, as I make a bid for the Stars ICC Championship. To finish well in this high profile series would be a great addition to my growing resume and a boost to my career, as I prepare to make the next move into full-size racecars.

Please find the brief bio on myself, which list some of my racing accomplishments and sponsors. I would great appreciate the opportunity to speak personally with someone from your company, to discuss how sponsoring me for this series could not only benefit me, but how your company can benefit as well.
Your company name would be promoted through my new racing website, RFMotorsports, which is near completion. Your company name would also be promoted with graphics, which would be applied to all vehicles associated with Randolph Ferguson and RFMotorsports, a non-profit organization. This includes race trailer and tow vehicle, race karts, driving suits and helmet. I could also display and distribute brochures or other company advertisements that your company may find beneficial to its image.

In closing, let me thank you for taking the time to review my request. Any and all financial assistance would be of great benefit to my racing program. I hope that you find this an interesting prospect and I look forward to hearing back form you soon. Please feel free to contact me via e-mail for further information.

Best Regards,
Randolph Ferguson

Now 17, Randolph, a senior at La Costa Canyon High, started racing karts at the age of ten, when Jon Long (father of American, Patrick Long, Factory Porsche Jr. Team driver, ) bought Randolph his first kart. Within one year, he was a fixture on the SSC/CRG Team as a Jr. 1 driver and racking up the wins. As a Jr. driver, he was one of the very first drivers in the country to have the opportunity to race the Kawasaki 60 Shifter as part of the class development program, and is still featured in Kawasaki's 2-stroke engine catalog, racing his 60 at the SKUSA Super Nationals in Las Vegas.

Randolph has driven numerous types of karts, from the Jr. 1 Cadets as a youngster, up to the ultra fast, 150 mph 250cc Super Karts, where he won his first race at Willow Springs International Raceway, on the 2.5 mile "big Willow", lapping up through 3rd place in a 23 kart field. He was subsequently banned from 250 competition for 3 years as he was only 15 at the time. As his Karting career comes closer to it's end, Randolph is now looking towards opportunities that will allow him to move up into fullsize racecars. With Road Racing in his blood, it is only natural that he is focusing on a driving career in Motorsport. Touring Cars, Trans-Am, and ultimately the upper echelons of Open Wheel or Prototypes...this is the path that he has set for his goal. There have been many generous people who been there to help Randolph along the way, and with a little luck, there faith in Randolph's abilities will be rewarded.

In addition, Randolph is also a National Teen Spokesperson for Kathy Ireland's "Athletes and Entertainers for Kids", donating his time every year at Christmas time, sponsoring a booth where under-privileged children in the Los Angeles area can decorate "Race-car" Christmas tree ornaments.
