Couple of Wrangler ?'s

Hey
I do not yet own a Jeep but I am planning on buying a wrangler come spring. First question how much on average would i probably pay for a 94(around) with a good body,6cyl, and approx. 100k?. Second ?...Any major problems with these cars that I should know about? , also any problems tranny wise , Im not sure if I should get the manual or automatic.

Wrangler

Since you want a YJ... I would buy the 1995 model Rio Grande Edition... they made them only in 1995 and in 1996 no Jeeps were produced. In time the 1995 will be a sought after collector Jeep such as the CJ-7 Levi Edition. The Rio Grande Edition comes with a/c, PS, PB, carpet, back seat, and not so powerful 2.5L 150 AMC and AX-5 tranny. This engine is strong and fine for in town driving, but if you want highway performance go for the 4.0L. You can expect to pay anywhere from $2500.00 to $4500.00 for a 1995 Jeep Wrangler depending on the condition. Personally, I would seek out a 4.0L from 1997 on up... the TJ body style and round headlights are right on track. You can get a few good prices for a few Jeep CJs and Wranglers from www.austinjeeps.com but Mike is on vacation and won't be back until Thursday Jan 8th I believe. He has mainly CJ-7s with V6s and V8s, but occassionaly gets a Wrangler on trade in. Some of the CJ-7s that he has are in immaculate condition. Once he gets back his website will be up and there are plenty of pictures of his Jeeps posted with a price tag.

Re: Couple of Wrangler ?'s

For a 94 wrangler with a hardtop, 4.0, and auto tranny expect to pay about $6,000. You can drop the price if u get a soft top but beware, if you never rode in a jeep with a soft top before and care about things like hearing your radio, or passenger without yelling, or mind having a little draft (the top and soft upper doors tend to separate due to air pressure) this might not be for you. But you may save a grand or better. As for the tranny its really up to what you prefer. Both are excellent choices but I would recommend the ax-15 manual for its lower first gear and overdrive. Plus its alot more friendly toward bigger tires than the auto. And you may get it a little cheaper too.

I noticed a white Jeep Wrangler possibly 1994 with a Hard Top, but it might have a 2.5L for $3000.00. It is located at a used car place on highway 29 near Seward's Junction. I believe the area is considered to be in Leander, Texas. If you are interested let me know and I can get a phone number for you.
