Telebmwgps, thanks for your response. I noticed the problem during the summer time, but it's gone by now. So far it only happened once around several days ago. I guess it's the engine warm up period? (I don't remember the technical term...kick in period?) Anyway, I also installed a name brand air filter. BMW technician said this could be the improvement to the noise problem. The engine needs much cleaner air, especially on BMW cars. There must be many solutions out there to resolve the BMW noise problem. Right? You can try to find one solution but not to damage the car nor void the factory warranty. Good luck to you!
