Tires for a Miata

I am looking to replace my tires on my 2000 Miata. I live in Florida so no snow. I want tires that handle well and do not create a lot of road nosie. I would like to spend between $350 and $450 for the tires. I was looking at Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 but these were over $450. What tires do you use, do you like the way they handle, and how about the noise level.

Re: Tires for a Miata

Which tire size were you looking at? That would help us determine which tires are available in your size etc...

I am looking for tires for my 2000 Miata, tire size 195/50 R15. The following is in the order of importance: 1) road noise (listen to CDs with top down), 2) ride comfort (wife has a bad back), 3) handling, 4) wear. Live in Florida, temp is always above 50. This is not my primary car. I will put less then 8,000 miles on the car in a year.

With those things in mind, I would look at the Dunlop Sort 9000 and the Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. Those are going to be the two best in your price range.
