JDM Nissan Guru's...Need help

I've been trying to get an answer on the question of the the difference between z32 300zx t-25 turbos and an SR20det T-25. I'm a technical person I would like to know specifically what is different.

And the other question...Are the GTiR cams any different (better) than the RWD SR20DET cams? I've heard the're a little more radical. Just curious. Thanks in advance.

Re: JDM Nissan Guru's...Need help

I am no guru, but the s14 sr20det has variable valve timing and the GTiR does not, at least I beleive so, someone correct me if I am wrong
... so there must be some difference in the cams from what I know about engines ^^

they might be the same, id rather have the individual throttle bodies off the GTiR before its cams lol.

Re: JDM Nissan Guru's...Need help

I have an s-13 sr20 I guess I should have mentioned that. And yeah the individual throttle body thing is pretty cool too you just have to have a big phuckin hood to clear it. I'm still thinking about using it. But I have also got access to some GTiR cams w/ cam gears. Just wondering if the cams would be worth my time.

Also, the cams in the GTiR SR20DET and the RWD SR20DET are the same. The cams that they have are different than the N/A SR20DE though. The SR20DET has a longer duration exhaust cam, for obvious reasons.

that GTiR turbo looks a bit better on paper then the others. If you have access to a gtir turbo I would try to swap it on.

This was the same turbo on the s-14 & s-15 silvias. I had a chance to get one for $600 didn't have the money.... Now I'm looking at a Precision SC-61 for about the same price. They don't have a sompressor map on it yet. But the island looks 10x better than a Garrett 60-1. And they're claiming it will support over mid 600 RWHP!!!!

The 60-1 is one of the worst matched turbo's for the KA out there. There are plenty other turbos that will make a lot of power, but will work waaay better than the 60-1.
