Do You Prime Small Parts???

Like the thread says, do you prime small parts such as:
-rims
-engine parts
-suspension
basically anything that is not the body!

So, do you?

I don't. I usually only prime body parts that will end up being polished later. I'll also prime parts than need to be a totally different color than the plastic (i.e. prime a blue part before you paint it red.)

I don't prime either but thinking of trying it out if it ends up looking better but I'm afraid the details on some of the smaller parts might get wiped out from primer and paint.

While preparing engine for Porsche 959 I invented my own way of "priming"
Silver and aluminium paint poorly stick to some details like engine parts, hoses, pipes, etc. I use Gun Metal (X10 tamiya) paint as "primer"
This paint cover and mask any colored plastic very good so you hardly can see base color. And also it much more easier to apply silver or aluminium over gun metal (which also contains aluminium powder). I've done this way turbochargers, intakes and exaust pipes
note: I don't know why but X10 sticks much better to plastic
than any other paint

I prime everything now too. Just spray it on the tree. I tried only priming the body parts on the Mini Cooper and found the paint wasn't sticking real well to the plastic.
