B16 rex vs B17 rex

My Crx with b16a, short ram intake, and 2 1/4" catback exhaust. My buddy just bought this 91 si CRX with full body kit (not sure which one) 17 inch wheels, corbeau racing seats, apexi controller, b17 (I think that's like from a 90 GSR right?) With header, cold air intake, and straight through 2 1/4". He got it all for $4800, I thought that was pretty cheap. Well anyway, we met up at a store and talked for a few minutes then went 15 miles out of town and ran 3 times. The first one he beat me off the line but I was creeping up on him in 2nd then as soon as I hit 3rd I walked away pretty much. Are the gear ratios different with the b16's and b17's? Well the 2nd race I got a perfect launch and so did he and we were even through 1st and 2nd, then once we hit 3rd I pulled by a couple cars. 3rd race we were tied in 2nd but I stopped cuz a car was coming in my lane. Well I was surprised that I won because he had a header and more tq. Is the b17 from a 90-93 GSR and what are the specs?

b17a is from the 92-93 gsr.

came w/ 160hp/114lbs of torque.

yes the gear ratios are different.

and yes, u beat a car that SHOULD beat u w/ even drivers. u simply out-drove him

EDIT: the 17's would slow him down as well. have him put on some stock 14/15 in rims and he'll be a bit quicker.
