Question does stock cd player have rca preamp outputs?

does anyone know off hand if the stock cd player for a 2000 jetta have rca preamp outputs? tia!

actually, it's the stock cassette player with cd changer control. does anyone know where to get the tool to pop the deck out so i can see for myself??? tia...

Go to a car audio place and ask them if you can use their tool really quickly, or ask if they'll come and take a look at it. But my advice is to take it to Radio Shack, they'll tell you by model if it has a preamp... why would you use a stock head units preamp anyway though.

it's my brother's car. he wants to add a subwoofer amp and a subwoofer and we need to get the signal from the hu to the amp. i'm just going to use the speaker level inputs instead though.

I recently added my system to my 2000 vr6, it does not have to pre outs on the back, if you you don't want a new deck you can just buy some new pre outs from any place that does sysytems for about 15.00 dollers, then just splice it right into the back of the existing deck. If you need to tools to take out the deck you can go to the dealership, but the usually want in excess of 50.00 dollers (assholes) for the keys, so do like he said and just ask a shop for the keys for a second.
