I'd say it looks like a good idea and would probably say go ahead. It sounds like a good project if that's what you're looking for.
One question though, Do you have a good steady supply of replacement parts? You'll have to do maintenence eventually right? As long as you can get what you need fairly easily, I'd say good luck then.
