Re: 91 VN Calais

How many Ks has the car done

Does it smell like fuel or oil?

Theyre the first things I need to know

You may have some dead oil rings in your engine and if this is the case you will need to have your engine reconditioned or exchange the one you have for an engine that has already been reco'd.

If you do that it would be adviseable to have the transmission reco'd as well because you will find that the new engine will put too much strain on an already tired box and that will be the next thing to pack in.

If the car has done any more than 275000ks I would advise on a full mechanical overhaul (this is suspension, brakes, driveline and cooling system) and a thorough body examination for cracks and alignment
