What is up with Canadian Tire?

My hubby brought the car in to Canadian Tire to get the resistor (blower) replaced on my 99Grandam SE v6 this morning. They said that it was a GM part which they don't have or can get so they wont fix it.

YET.....

They charged $40 bucks to check the brakes as my e-brake light and ABS lights were on!(I don't know if they checked the codes) But the result is that there is nothing wrong with my Brakes...So hopefully they "corrected" this and got the ABS & ebrake lights to turn off.

(I checked my messages too late, I received a response from my thread asking about my ABS and E-brake light and how to correct this...)

How is it that a repair shop be able to check codes, yet not fix the problems? Also to not have the parts or accessibility to get the parts?

Re: What is up with Canadian Tire?

Most independant repair shops do not have the service information, tools or access to parts that a dealer service department has.

Re: What is up with Canadian Tire?

ahh...Thanks. I guess I know where not to go then! I just find it hard to pay the GM people 80$CDN an hour for labour plus parts(expensive GM quality parts) to repair my car..
