Info on 1988 Maxima

I have a 1988 Nissan Maxima GXE that has been sitting idle for sometime, but I want to breathe some new life into it. A few questions: what was the japanese version called (not the RWD Cefiro- I have the USA FWD version) and what is it's chassis code? Also are there substantial mods for it's VG30E engine, if I start driving it again, let's just say I want beyond the stock 160hp and lastely, would it be pratical to drop in a VG30ET into it in terms of money and speed? If it, it'd be one heck of a sleeper. Thanks for any input. Please add your

Re: Info on 1988 Maxima

i don't think there was a FWD VG30 "maxima" in japan. the gloria or cefiro would be the closes but both are rwd. there weren't any FWD vg30T's to my knowledge.
