Adjustable Clutch

I have a 99 ls ..and i drove my friends LS and we both got stock clutch. But on mine i have to push it in alot further.. for example lets say my clutch can be pushed 6 inches b4 it hits the floor..his is like 3 or 4. And most other cars are like his to..is there a way to adjust mine so i dont have to push it in as far becuz it makes it tough to drive.

Re: Adjustable Clutch

well matt, if you have your acura integra repair guide handy, you should check for what they call "clutch freeplay". belive me THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT MATT. if your clucth setting is too loose, you might be wasting clutch unessicarily.
(mentally picture this. you press you clutch. it takes 6 in to get the clutch to start disengageing. when u reach the peddle to the floor, the clutch might still be lightly engaged, wasting unessisary clutch) BTW, 99 ls has hydralic clutch pedel, if your friend has a older integra, it might not be like yours. but try adjusting the free play to the correct settings. >^.^<

Re: Adjustable Clutch

forgot to mention. as your clutch wears, and the friction material wears, you will have to adjust the free play. maybe, that can also be a factor in your dilema
