Interior Painting

I'm thinking about giving my car a customized interior. I want to do it myself but don't know what kind of paint to use or what supplies i would need. I'm thinking about painting my leather seats and paint the dash some and door panels. Should i by some kind of special spary paint or should i get myself an air brush? what would get the job done? What kind of paint should i use? What equipment is required? Any preparation? Special ways to clean?

for the dash the best thing to use is krylon fusion, you can find just about anywhere (i got for 4.99 a can at walmart)
get that and a clear coat
the key to doing this is prep
1. i would suggest taking everything you want to paint out
if you can't then get lots of masking tape and garbage bags to cover your inside otherwise you could get paint somewhere you don't want.

2. then wash what your going to paint with soap and water to remove most of the oil

3. masking everyting off thats not going to be painted.

4. use a scotch bright pad ( had some laying in the garage, probaly able to get a walmart too) to get all the remaining oil off

5. now it is ready to paint, get a test peice or something spray. find out whats the best distance to paint from and try it. if it looks thick either hold farther away or move your hand faster

6. do many light coats (if you painting over black or other dark stuff your first coat will look really dont, but after second and third it looks much better)
leave about 10 min between coats

7. after all this look it all over to make sure you didn't miss anything, make sure not get finger prints all over, then let sit for about 12 hours

8. look over stuff again and if its all good then do the same spray technique with the clear coat. (the more coats the shinier it will be)
let it sit for a couple more hours and then you can put it back it.

as for the leather i would suggest painting that but if you really want to look at this http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=147011
