RB26DETT into Z32
Does anyone have any information on successful VG30DE(TT)-RB26DETT? Im guessing usage of the R32 RWD tranny would be required, unless you can leave the stock 300zx. It is quite unfortunate they turned the Z cars from straight 6 to a crappy quadcam V and now got lazy and threw in a 3.5L altima/maxima engine in it. Putting a RB series engine in the Z32 would somewhat make it a "260Z" ? (TT!) -_-;

I am not sure if you will have the room front to back in the engine bay to do such a swap. As far as "tranny's" I would suggest binning the Z32 and go with the one out of the R33 GTS25t as it will bolt straight up and is a very strong 5speed to start with.

If you can get around the height issues trying to get an RB26 under that Z hood it would make for an awesome conversion. Unique for sure.
Dont underestimate the Z32 5speed, they will handle plenty

It can and has been done. I will go through my thousands of import magazines and if I find it I will post the information for you. Don't expect it to be a cheap conversion though because an RB26DETT is damn expensive and hard to find and then you need someone to do the conversion for you.

Re: RB26DETT into Z32
[first and foremost you can do this swap however it require some exspensive and time consuming procedures...... the engine top to bottom is almost the same in depth ther are no problems there, second the engine left to right will fit no problems there now the engine front to back is 2.8 inches longer than your current engine.... that presents ahuge amount of labor to adjust however in the eyes of a tuner doable..... it starts with customizing your firewall in the car back by 3.3 inches to get an appropriate amount of space between the engine and you. then comes the motor mount to be customized by a machine shop, very very costly. third you must customize turbo mounts ic piping radiator lines and all the little stuff we all love.....also expensive...... transmission, possibly the easiest in a long line of modifications to your car the transmission out of a rb25det will mount dirrectly to the engine and some tranny mounts will need to be customized......... dont for get about exaust mounts and manifolds................. please ontact me if you are intrested in following trew with this modification........... Re: RB26DETT into Z32
Hell if you have the money, my boss can do it for you. As long as you have the money FIRST, and we can get it shipped down/over/up to Arizona, and the conversion will be performed. Shoot me at [email protected] if you are at all interested. peace
