Please somebody help. (me begs)
I live in the uk and a while back purchased a Nissan Primera P10 2.0 eGT. Up till a few weeks ago the car was fine, but now I have major problems. When I go to stop the car at a junction it stalls on me, basically i will have my foot on the brake slowing down when I depress the clutch before I am stopping the vehicle will drop revs almost to zero then as I have fully depressed the clutch it stalls. The engine idles quite erratically, I have had it serviced by my local dealer. Who will not diagnose the fault until I have paid more money. Any help is appreciated, advice more than anything so I do not get ripped of by my dealer. kind regards. |

Re: My P10 is a Pain!
Hi
How long ago did you give your car a nice tuneup? I'd change spark plugs, wires, as well as the distributor rotor and cap. Fuel filter change and an oil change are also in order. Also try to check bettery/alternator behaviour, or have someone who knows what he's doing do that. And believe me, if you think taht is a pita, you should get to know my car Still, it could be anything... O2 sensor comes to mind. But I'd start with the obvious, since it's likely that those things need to be changed anyway, right?Good luck Alex

you will need to check the throttle butterfly is free from cardon and clean as needed. it will be worth checking the inlet manifold for air leaks as well. also check the idle up control valve, (located on the left hand side of the inlet manifold). if you have the a/c on or the HRW does this improve the idle?

Same problem here.
I have had my p10 since 96 and over the last two months it has developed this problem. I have changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter.
When I switch the AC on the problem appears to diasappear but the idle still sounds uneven. Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks Rob |

Re: My P10 is a Pain!
Try checking the voltage of the MAF. If it needs regrounding, it will have strange symptoms like you're talking about. Grounding mine to my intake runners cured the problem on my NX2000 (same engine).

Re: My P10 is a Pain!
also easy thing to check see Maf sensor is clean, and is not covered in crap.....if it is dirty....don't touch it....spray some carb cleaner on it....let it dry natrually....should take a min or two...then retry...
