clear lenses?(when, where, how)

Whats the deal with clear lenses on 3 series( 01 330Ci in particular). What years came with them stock or with what package did they come with(on what yr)? Is there a way to use some sort of chemical to like dissolve the orange? Should i go OEM or aftermarket? How much? Where?

And by clear lenses im talking about clear/red taillights and clear turn signal.

I believe the clear lenses were part of the sport package

They're all over Ebay for under $100, some brand new. Never underestimate the power of shopping online, I actually bought my car itself on Ebay.

The ones on ebay are crappy ones that leak.

And my 01 with sport package didnt come with clears, i got a quote from the dealer today for $425.70!!!!! I think i know a guy i can get a 20% discount thru tho.
