Autocar Magazine - Enzo -vs- McLaren F1

First reported by TcarR in another thread:

BTW: Looks like Autocar have finally ensured the services of an Enzo for an F1 comparison test. It's published on Tuesday and I can't wait. I'll tell you all about it as soon as i get my hands on it.
Well, reviews are in already on another site and it's rather disappointing. The two cars don't actually go head to head - it is simply a numbers comparison.

In fact, as you can see from this tiny thumbnail of the cover, it doesn't even look like they had them together for photos as the shot of the Enzo is most likely a Ferrari press photo, and the McLaren appears to be the Clinic Model with high mirrors, having been Photoshopped red.

Someone on another forum stated - "Don't be fooled by the fantastic cover, as the article is quite frankly, pathetic! "

Not only that, but I heard that the exceleration tests for the Enzo
where done on a slightly downhill grade. And it was drivin by the
factory test driver not someone from Autocar, it seems that Ferrari
as usual isn't supplying any cars for an independent road test.

Fiorano is slightly downhill, thats probably where the Enzo was tested.

Hi

Have spent all night trying to fix my internet connection , but it's working now . I'll post the article tomorrow, but the summary is as follows.

It was not a full head to head test. If you remember another thread of mine i said Autocar had interviewed Martin Brundle who had driven both cars side by side on a racetrack for a DVD he has got out at xmas. He didn't comment on the cars then as he had just started filming. The story in this weeks' autocar is Brundles' opinion of the two cars having now driven them both. His opinion is very credible considering he is an ex F1 driver, Le Mans winner and bone fide car nut. Basically he reckons the F1 is better on the road and the Enzo is better on track. He also reckons the F1 looks better.

I'll post the whole thing tomorrow, but it ain't very long.
