if it was that one and only important goal he made, youre right, he would be good, not god, BUT he also scored all the points in the France game, and helped greatly win the SA game, without him england probably wouldnt have made it past quaters, and deffinatly not semis.

Anyway, I agree that Wilco did a lot for his team and got of hell of a skill but don't forget that he couldn't drop goal if they other players weren't giving enough time to do it. Same for penalities, opponent do fault when you put them under pressure and that gives the opportunity for 3 points. The thing is that nowaday defence are harder and harder to pass, and teams goes too easily for 3 points. May be they should reincrease the number of points scored by try to promote it.
For me england won because they control more phases of the game.
