Re: 93 mustang

Well, it depends what you're trying to achieve. If you want to be able to carry the door away from the car, you'll have to disconnect the wiring harness that runs into the door through a corrugated rubber hose (if your car has one). I think you have to remove the door panel, unplug the wires, and feed them through the rubber hose. I haven't investigated this too well, though. Anyways, put a jack under the door to support it (while the door is open). Remove the bolts that fasten the hinge to the body. The hinges are welded on the door, if I recall correctly. Take the door away. If you're just trying to change the hinge pins, you don't have to completely remove the door. Just cut the pins (good luck...), pull 'em out and change them one at a time. If I remember right, it'll be pretty hard to get at the bolts that hold the hinges on the body. You might be tempted to loosen the fender and pull it out.

You want to get the alignment right when everything goes back together, so mark the location of all the bolts meticulously with a scribe or something.
Good luck. Sorry if I got anything wrong.

The hinges are welded to the door and the body so there are no bolts. The only thing that holds the door is the 2 hinge pins. You need to cut or drill the heads off of each pin top and bottom. Then you need to drive the pins out. I found the best technique is this... use a drill to get the heads of the pins of then take an air jackhammer to drive the pins out.
