Re: help!

Esslinger Engineering makes a lot of parts for the 2.3L engine. So does Race Engineering.

I was going to convert my 4-banger 'Stang to a 2.3L turbo. I even bought a rusty '88 Turbo Coupe for parts. I think it's cheaper to go 5.0, though, so thats what I'm doing now. I have the Turbo Coupe rims on my 'Stang. I like 'em.

Have you ever checked out these sites?

Check out this turbo Ford site just for kicks:

Yeah, it's a Mustang, but it is a 2.3L Turbo. Well, it has probably been stroked (and then some...).

I think I have a bunch of other 2.3L Turbo links I can post, if you want. Most are Mustang SVO links.

Re: Re: help!

Stroker kits for a 2.3 are freakin' expensive! You can get a 2.5L crank cheap, but the journal size is wrong. You can buy bearing inserts to use the 2.5L crank, but I'm not sure I like that idea...

I'd go with a bigger intercooler before a stroker. I'd bet you make at least as much HP with a big front mount intercooler from a scrapyard Volvo as with a 2.5L stroker. And it'll be WAY cheaper. For that matter, I think you can go 5.0HO swap for about the same price as a worthwhile stroker kit.
